CARLOS AND JANICE WEDDING AT HOLY ROSARY CATHEDRAL, VANCOUVER
Carlos and Janice celebrated their wedding at the Holy Rosary Cathedral followed by an elegant party at Van Dusen Gardens. For the beautiful Bride and Groom, I could see this day was a dream come true.
The day began at the beautiful Pinnacle Hotel Harbourfront where Janice was surrounded by her mother and bridal party. After Janice’s makeup was prepared and her wedding dress was on, we made a couple of great photos of Janice, her wedding accessories, and some lovely portraits of her. Taking the portrait of Janice and her mother was a beautiful and sentimental moment as I captured the last photos of Janice as a single woman standing alongside her mother.
In juxtaposition, the atmosphere at the hotel with the groom and his groomsmen had a light-hearted mood. The energy was all fun and jokes while they prepared for the day ahead. When I saw Carlos in his nice tuxedo, I couldn’t help myself and had to take a couple of very cool shots in James Bond style.
The first venue of the day was the Holy Rosary Cathedral which is a late 19th-century French Gothic church. It is one of the best church locations in downtown Vancouver for a wedding and it is a dream of many Brides to say ‘I do’ in this beautiful building. The church's gothic architecture combined with that special moment where the bride walks down the aisle was incredible to photograph.
As it was time for the ceremony, I waited for Janice’s limousine to arrive at the front of the venue while Carlos and his groomsmen awaited the bride’s grand entrance inside. Once she arrived, I was able to take some great photographs of Janice and her dad preparing to walk her down the aisle.
At the end of the stunning wedding ceremony, there was the opportunity to take family and guest pictures as well as a couple of photos of the bride and groom alone framed by the iconic building.
Following this photoshoot, we went to another great location Van Dusen Gardens for the Wedding Reception. We had about 2 hours for our location photos around the garden, with additional family pictures and bridal party photos prior to the reception.
It was the middle of summer and the garden was full of beautiful flowers and vibrant colors. During the evening the party enjoyed the speeches, the cutting of the cake, and the first wedding dance, and the party continued in a great mood till late at night.
I was grateful to be a part of this special day for Carlos and Janice. It was another fantastic wedding and I can’t wait to deliver their wedding album full of many great memories.
